Fall brings Conyers’ longest-running festival, the 37th edition of the Olde Town Fall Festival, to be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Coordinated by the City of Conyers, the festival draws residents and visitors to historic Olde Town Conyers for a day of browsing among artists, crafters and local merchants. From woodworking and jewelry to baked goods and crocheted items, there is a fantastic variety of vendors lined up for this year’s festival.
“Started by the Rockdale County Historical Society in 1980, the city is proud to continue this tradition of fall fun in the streets of Olde Town,” stated Sandy Fowler, Olde Town Conyers Event Coordinator.
The Olde Town Fall Festival features two stages of entertainment (on Railroad Street at the Conyers Depot and in the Olde Town Pavilion), arts and crafts vendors, a variety of food and children’s activities, and a number of local non-profit organizations eager to share their individual missions to serve Conyers and Rockdale County.
The Olde Town Fall Festival takes place on Center, Commercial and Railroad Streets, and those streets will be closed to traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21 until approximately 6:00 p.m. that evening.
The Conyers Police Department and Rockdale County Fire and Sheriff Departments will be on hand for fun safety activities and interaction with children and adults, alike. More than 80 vendors selling wares such as jewelry, baked goods, artwork, food, knitting/crocheted pieces, woodworking and floral arrangements will be on hand.
Entertainment scheduled to make appearances include the Sole Momentum Cloggers, C.J. Hicks Elementary Fantastic Falcon Music Club, Rhythm Elements Dance Studio, Carrie Bowen, Unique Melodeez, Benson & Leinweber, Band of Brothers, and more to be announced. The performer’s schedule is subject to change. A costume contest for kids and a pet costume contest will take place on the Conyers Depot stage at 11:00 a.m.
Admission and parking are free for the festival. For more information, visit www.oldetownfallfestival.com, visit the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pages/Conyers-City-Hall/100906880763, or call the Conyers Welcome Center at 770-602-2606.
